Common gynaecological procedures carried out by Mark are outlined below.

This information is designed to give you a better understanding of the procedures available to treat a variety of gynaecological conditions.

For those women with symptoms of endometriosis, one laparoscopic procedure is usually all that is required to diagnose and treat the disease.

Laparoscopic Myometcomy is the surgical management of intramural fibroids which preserves fertility.

If there is significant pain associated with an ovarian cyst then Laparoscopic surgery to remove the cyst is recommended.

A Laparoscopy may be indicated to diagnose and divide adhesions.

Hysterectomy is an effective sugical procedure, with high patient satisfaction, for those women with heavy and/or painful periods who have not responded to other treatment options.

Hysteroscopy is a day case procedure requiring a light anaesthetic to investigate those women with irregular or heavy periods.

The Mirena Intrauterine Device (IUCD) may be an effective treatment option for those women with Heavy Periods (menorrhagia).

Endometrial Resection is a minimally invasive procedure used in the management of heavy periods (menorrhagia) and may be an alternative to a Hysterectomy (in selected cases).

Surgery for prolapse varies depending on the degree of uterine and vaginal involvement.
